New Tri-City Nets Website
Parents,
I hope everyone has been having a wonderful summer. As your fall Soccer, basketball and other activities begin I wanted to let everyone know there will be a new resource within the Tri-City Nets organization.
Though it's still being built out with information, by November we will have a brand new Tri-City Nets website. Not only a site that serves the needs of our current players and parents but also one that is full of information for interested and prospective players and parents.
I (Coach Tony Duncan) have been asked to join the Tri-City Nets board as the webmaster / board member and have been working hard to get this new site up and running. If you have ideas, comments or suggestions please email webmaster@tricitynets.org which will send the email to me.

Thanks, and keep an eye on the site for when the 2009/2010 tryouts will be held.

Tri City Nets - Summer Basketball Camps
Parents,
I wanted to make sure everyone was aware of the summer basketball camp opportunities for our girls. Registration deadlines are coming fast. I encourage our girls to get as much time with a basketball as they can and these camps provide a great structured environment as well as competition. I know of the following two camps. Please email me back if you are aware of more and I will post it on the site.
I have seen the Conley's camp for years and they do a solid job. Our girls will jump to the older session which consists of 6th-8th graders which should make it more intense and competitive. The Saginaw Area camp is new to me but is led by Coach Lou Dawkins (Head coach of Saginaw High Men's team).
Camp Name Dates End Date Time Cost Deadline
Saginaw Area Foundation for Eye Care Basketball Camp 15-Jun 16-Jun 9am - 1pm $55 1-Jun
Conley's Camp 15-Jun 19-Jun 8am - 10am $77 22-May
Congratulations to the HangTime U10 for winning AAU States
Parents and Players,
I wanted to communicate a congratulations to Hangtime's U10 team for winning the AAU State tournament last weekend. (Article below)
For as much as we felt Hangtime's U10 team was our nemesis, and some of the girls didn't like playing them. we now know they were a high quality team. If you were wondering what kind of team we had this year, you can be proud of the fact that we played and competed with 2 of the best teams in the state.
Date Away Team Score Home Team Score
01/10/09 03:00 PM Hangtime Hoops 10U - Flaminio 26 Tri City Nets 10U 7

Notice they beat the Detroit Cross over by 1 point. This is a team we lost to by 1 point early in their season. They also beat the Capitol City Express, a team we beat 20-14

Hangtime Basketball takes AAU U10 state championship
by The Bay City Times
Wednesday April 29, 2009, 9:08 AM
Jenai LaPorte of Bay City helped power Hangtime Basketball to the AAU U10 state championship, capturing the tournament title in Flint and qualifying for the nationals in Orlando, Fla. in July.
LaPorte scored 14 points in the title game while Standish's Abby LeClair was one of the team's top rebounders. Hangtime lost to the Michigan Future 28-24 but defeated the Capital City Express 26-15, the Waterford Wave 28-15, and the Waterford Legion 18-13 before downing the Michigan Crossover 26-25 in the final.

HangTime Tournament Schedule 03/14/09
Parents,
Well, 23 games later and we're entering our last tournament of the year. Yes, I was surprised to realize how many games we've played so far. The difference in the girls play and confidence shows a dramatic change from the first tournament. This is what playing for the Nets is all about.
As a result of our play, we have earned the right to play in the U11 division this weekend. I would consider it the lower level U11 bracket but we are playing 6th graders. This is good for the girls as they don't play as well when playing a lower level team. Win or lose I want to finish the season playing a high level of basketball.
9:00AM Midland Madness Court# 1
11:00AM Gaylord Prime Time Court #4
1:00PM USA 2 Court #1
We'll see everyone over at HangTime around 8:15AM.
Coach Tony
