Rockingham County Cougars Cheerleading

is an introductory level football spirit and competition cheerleading team. Participants will learn cheers, chants, jumps, stunts and some gymnastics. Cheerleading is an active and athletic sport where safety and awareness are the coaches' number one concern. Participants will have fun learning the sport of cheerleading while meeting new people, supporting the Rockingham County Cougars Football Team and competing in the state competition in the fall.

It is highly recommemded that interested participants try a “stunt clinic” where they can learn some cheers and see if the sport is a good fit for them, before the next season.

The girls are divided into levels based on their ages in the same way the football players are.  Here is the breakdown:

Tiny Mite:  5-6-7
Mitey Mite:  7-8-9
Jr Pee Wee:  8-9-10-11
Pee Wee:  9-10-11-12
Jr Midget:  10-11-12-13
Midget:  11-12-13-14-15
